Focusing on creativity and musicality, RAD exams motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities.
The Core Of The Royal Academy Of Dance
-
Barre
The syllabus starts at the barre with warm up exercises. Most new steps are taught here, where the barre can provide support.
-
Center Exercises
Building on the skills they learn, the syllabus includes center combinations to practice as they build their classical ballet foundation.
-
Dance/Variation
The dancers perform a special dance or variation which includes some of the steps they have learned in their level. Graded levels have two dances - classical and character. This is the fun part, and dancers can really perform!
-
Examinations
The dancers will perform all they’ve learned for an examiner who will mark their performance and classical ballet technique. On successful completion, they will receive a certificate and a medal!
